Reclaimed materials have begun to be considered a viable source of binder and aggregate. These cost-efficient and quality recycled materials are increasingly serving as the main component of aggregates, and we are making them available to the RGV.
Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) Reclaimed asphalt can be reused in new asphalt. Reclaimed concrete can also be used again, but it is absorbent so it is not desirable as aggregate for asphalt pavements.
Reclaimed Asphalt Shingles (RAS) Shingle recycling by grinding keeps our use of landfills down, and by using reclaimed asphalt shingles as an aggregate in new roads, we reduce the use of new asphalt and aggregate.
